These territories of life community-governed lands, waters, and ecosystems—are vital to global biodiversity, climate resilience, and social justice.
Rooted in movements for equity in nature conservation and human rights, the Consortium backs self-determined local action through advocacy, solidarity, capacity strengthening, and alliance-building. It operates in close collaboration with its members and partners around the world.
Role Purpose
The Financial Co-Coordinator will share responsibilities for overseeing the Consortium’s financial systems, ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency across its international operations. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in collaborative, multicultural environments and is committed to social and environmental justice.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Coordination: Co-manage the Consortium’s financial systems, processes, and reporting in close collaboration with the other Financial Co-Coordinator.
- Budget Oversight: Monitor and manage multi-currency budgets for projects, grants, and operations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate, timely financial reports for the Secretariat, Board, members, and donors.
- Collaborative Support: Work closely with program staff, regional coordinators, and members to support budget planning, tracking, and financial literacy.
- System Improvements: Contribute to the ongoing refinement of financial systems and tools that reflect the Consortium’s values of inclusivity, equity, and solidarity
Required Qualifications
- A four-year degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
- At least 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in financial coordination, preferably with nonprofit or international organizations.
- Functional fluency in English—both written and spoken—is essential.
- Strong skills in financial management software, spreadsheets, and digital collaboration tools.
- Proven ability to manage multiple budgets across currencies and funding sources.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, responsibly, and respectfully within a remote, multicultural team.
Desirable Competencies
- Familiarity with financial coordination in social justice, environmental, or Indigenous rights organizations.
- Working knowledge of additional languages—especially French or Spanish—is a plus.
- Experience with grant management and donor reporting.
- An understanding of collective governance models and solidarity-based finance systems.
